CPEC project of national development, no power can stop it: Asim Bajwa

KARACHI : CPEC Authority Chairman Lt Gen (Retd) Asim Salim Bajwa has expressed his resolve that CPEC is project of national development and no power can stop it.

He said this while talking to traders here Tuesday.

He went on to say Gwadar free zone Phase was started on 60 acres land two years back and at present construction work on 6 out of 12 factories has been completed.

About growing economic activities under CPEC he said a factory has started production therein.

He went on to say phase-2 measuring 2200 acres is going to be started. Interest is being shown from abroad for making investment therein. Only one part of Peshawar-Karachi motorway is left which spans from Sukkar to Hyderabad.

He stated the construction work on this part will soon be started. Islamabad-DI Khan motorway project has been approved by China. Work is underway from Zhob to Quetta.

He hoped all the routes will be linked within two to three years and the best travelling facilities will become available till Gwadar.

He remarked that jobs will become available to the youths of the adjoining towns and areas following the completion of the western routes.

We are coming out of roads, energy and fiber optic and entering into agriculture and special economic zone, he held. It will lead to poverty alleviation and growth in GDP, he added. This will be all due to agriculture and special economic zone.

He told the traders that Chinese are evincing interest in IT Sector.
