DPO,Khyber visits Landi Kotal

Deputy Police Officer (DPO) Khyber district paid first ever visit to Landi Kotal on Tuesday after converting Khasadar to police.
The district police official Muhammad Hussain was warmly received by the recently turned to police Khasadar officials beside number of tribal elders. They showered petals on him and indued him a traditional turban.
Speaking on the occasion DPO said that century old draconian law, Frontier Crime Regulation (FCR) had abolished and regular law had extended to the ex-tribal region therefore as per decree, the Khasadar and Levies forces had become part of police.
“All the transfers of police of tribal regions will be made inside the districts because the officials are more familiar with the behavior and attitude of the locals”, he added and saying jirga system would be remained as it was to facilitate the residents.
He stressed upon the newly appointed police officers to work for the betterment of the tribal and in case of complaints, departmental action would be taken against the officers.
At the end office of the Station House Officer (SHO) was inaugurated in Landi Kotal.
