ICU VC stressed students to focus on studies

PESHAWAR (INP): Vice Chancellor Islamia College University Peshawar (ICUP) Prof Dr Habib Ahmad Tuesday stressed upon students to focus on their studies and play vital role for the development of the country.
He said this in an introduction ceremony held for the newly admitted first year students. The ceremony was attended by Pro-Vice Chancellor Dr Prof Dr Noshad, Deans, Head of the Departments and teachers attended the ceremony.
VC Habib Ahmad said that students were the future of the country and no nation can progress without promotion of education and technology.
Pro-VC Prof Dr Noshad also spoke on the occasion and congratulated the newly admitted students.
Meanwhile, Pro-Vice Chancellor Islamia College Peshawar University, Prof Dr Naushad Khan said Tuesday that China-Pakistan Economic Corridor Project (CPEC) was a life line and game changer project that would change the security and economic paradigm of Pakistan.
He said CPEC has given new heights and dimension to Pak-China diplomatic relationship and this mega project will change the security and economic paradigm of the country. With completion of CPEC, he said, Pakistan would be safe from external threats besides making Pakistan an economic tiger, he told media.
He said KP and Balochistan would largely be benefited from the CPEC. These would increase the per capita income of people besides generating employment opportunities for people of the entire region, he said. The enhanced communication networks increase pace of development and trade activities besides bolstering a country\’s security and economy, he said.
Dr Naushad said JF-17Thunder aircraft that was co-developed by Pakistan and China was an excellent example of defence cooperation between the two countries. JF-17 Thunder aircraft is an all weather multi-role fighter jet with the capability to carry out air-to-air and air-to-ground strikes and can be fitted with beyond-visual-range (BVR) missiles. Dr Naushad said JF-17 aircraft has made Pakistan\’s defense impregnable.
He said it would make our western and eastern border safe in security point of view besides bring economic revolution in Pakistan.
Dr Naudad Khan who is also the dean of social sciences Islamia College Peshawar said ever growing Pakistan and China diplomatic and economic relations have touched new heights of friendship during tenure of PMLN Government and this relations would further grow under China Pakistan Economic Corridor Project (CPEC) between the two brotherly countries.
He said that no doubt that the diplomatic and economic relations between Pakistan and China has touched new horizon of friendship and enhanced cooperation under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Chinese President Xi Jinping. Dr Naushad said the $46 billion Chinese investment under CPEC has clearly reflected the Beijing\’\’s confidence in the economic policies of the present elected government.
He said this era was an age of globalization and communication connectivity based on economic cooperation and those nations with sound economic policies and excellent communications and rails connectivity was moving forward on roads to progress and economic development.
Dr Naushad Khan said in today\’s era of globalization and communication, no country can live in isolation and the CPEC would not only bring people of Pakistan and China more closer but would provide an excellent opportunities to landlocked Afghanistan and Central Asian States (CARs) to find out new global markets and avenues by spending very less amount through Gawadar seaport.
He said Gawadar Port after completion would help Afghanistan, CARs and China to use the warm water of Pakistan for exporting their products to world markets, ultimately generate employment opportunities and business activities in Pakistan.
He suggested exchange of delegations of intellectuals, media persons, artists and civil society besides cultural exchange programmes and arrangement of special training courses for students at colleges and universities level to learn Chinese and Urdu languages that would make people of both countries more closer.
