The Secretary of Information and Public Relations, government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Arshad Khan, has said that Information & Public Relations department has been playing a very important role in bridging the gap between the state and masses.
Expressing his views in a Talk Show of Pakhtunkhwa Radio FM 92.2 Peshawar, Arshad Khan said that people need to know about Government interventions and initiatives being taken for the well-being of the masses.
He said that Information Department should be ready for new challenges on daily basis.
Highlighting the role and responsibilities of the Information Department, he said that both government and the masses needed to have effective communication and it was the Information Department, which was making it happen.
To a question regarding government advertisements, he said that all publicity material was meant to help the masses know what the government was doing for their uplift. He added that informed people will make informed decisions that will benefit both the masses and also the Government.
To a question regarding the role of the Information Department in the Covid-19, the Secretary Information said that people needed to be kept informed about issues concerning their lives adding that it is the Information Department, which has been trying to convey the truth to the masses.
He also urged the masses not to follow hoaxes and rumors rather should make informed and evidence-based decisions.
Expressing his views on the future of Tribal districts, Arshad Khan explained that government was making sincere efforts to bring the tribal districts at par with the developed districts of the Country.
However, he said the tribal belt was Centuries-old and will take time to steer away from the problems confronting the tribal districts.
We need to ensure that there is a very effective communication mechanism between the government and masses, as it is the only way to pave the way for an environment of mutual Co-existence and trust.
