Japan keenly interested to boost bilateral trade with Pakistan: Consul General

KARACHI: Consul General of Japan, Mr. Toshikazu Isomura has said that bilateral trade relations between Japan and Pakistan should be strengthened further and traders of the two countries should interact with each other and instead of tradition trade should find new ways of trade so as to promote mutual trade. While addressing a meeting at Pakistan Chemicals and Dyes Merchants Association (PCDMA) here on Tuesday, the Japanese Consul General assured PCDMA members of the issuance of visas on a priority basis, adding that commercial importers will also be considered for multiple visa, but cannot be given assurance. On this occasion, Mr. Amin Yousuf Balgamwala, chairman PCDMA and former director Karachi Stock Exchange, Mr. Asif Ibrahim, VP, Mr. Arif Balgamwala and Chaudhry Naseer were also present. Japanese envoy said that there are 5,000 Japanese companies operating in Thailand and 20,000 Japanese companies in China. In contrast, only 85 companies are working in Pakistan which needs to be increased by attractive policies. He also emphasized the need for business-to-business meetings, exchanging trade delegations between Japan and Pakistan.
