Massive crackdown underway to curb criminal activities

Islamabad Police have arrested 19 persons during the last 24 hours in its crackdown against criminal elements and recovered narcotics and weapons from them, a police spokesman.
Following directions of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Muhammad Aamir Zulfqar Khan, Deputy Inspector General of Police (Operations) Waqar Ud Din Syed issued directions to all zonal officers for renewed efforts against those involved in anti-social activities.
Owing these efforts,
Kohsar police arrested two accused Nadeem Ahmed and Muhammad Nasir and recovered 220 gram hashish and 115 gram heroin from their possession.
Bhara Kahu police arrested 03 accused Adnan Masih, Asim and Adeel and recovered 20 liters alcohol, two pistols along with ammunition from their possession.
Golra police arrested two accused Shafiq Khan and Adeel and recovered two 30 bore pistols along with ammunition from their possession.
Industrial-Area police arrested two accused Muhammad Usman and Muhammad Altaf involved in selling diesel illegally. While police arrested two accused Hassnain Shah and Abdullah Javed and recovered one 12 bore gun and one bottle wine from their possession.
Sabzi Mandi police arrested accused Amjad Nawaz and recovered kites from him.
Sihala police arrested accused Hassan Imtaiz and recovered 320 gram hashish from him.
Cases have been registered against these nabbed persons and further investigation is underway from them. During special crackdown against absconders, Islamabad police nabbed five proclaimed offenders and court absconders from various area of the city.
DIG (Operations) Islamabad Waqar Uddin Syed has said that these social evils would be curbed and those backing those drug peddlers and professional beggars would be dealt with iron hand. He further emphasized that this campaign would continue till elimination of anti-social elements.
