The Mexican Foreign Ministry has said that Mexico is extending for
the third time its US
border restrictions till late August.
“After checking the rise of the COVID-19 spread, Mexico proposed to the US the extension of all non-essential traffic restrictions at the common border for 30 more days,” the ministry said on Twitter.
“Both countries will continue looking to coordinate the sanitary measures at the border region. The measures will be valid until August 21, 2020,” it added.
The border restrictions were first implemented on March 21.
Meanwhile, the US-Canada border is also expected to remain closed till at least late August.
