NAB arrests accused involved in Auqaf properties case

The National Accountability Bureau Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (NAB-KP) arrested accused Ashraf Ali allegedly involved in corruption in the auction of Auqaf properties in Peshawar and Mardan.
NAB initiated a probe against officers and officials of Auqaf Department KP upon receipt of several complaints.
It transpired during proceedings that the accused Ashraf Ali in league with the officials of Auqaf department illegally & fraudulently changed the nature of land from agriculture to industrial and obtained lease of valuable waqf properties at Mani Khela and Ghala Dher Mardan for the establishment of housing society.
The accused was produced before the Accountability Court and physical custody of the accused has been obtained.
Investigation is underway, more facts are being discovered.
Brig (R) Farooq Naser Awan, DG NAB KP vowed that as per directions of Honourable Chairman NAB Justice Javed Iqbal, NAB is determined to do across the board accountability on the basis of solid evidence as per law.
He further said that eradication of corruption is not only our social and moral obligation but it also ensures prosperous future of our coming generations.
