No one is above the law, criminals to be dealt with iron hands, IG KP

The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Dr Sanaullah Abbasi has said that no one is above the law and criminals would be dealt with iron hand ,adding that police made commendable performance while apprehending banks robbers and busted the gang of the robbers.
He expressed these views during a ceremony held to award appreciation certificates to police officers who played key role in apprehending banks robbers.
The event was held at Malik Saad Shaheed Police Lines Peshawar in which SSP Operations Yasir Afridi, SP Cantt Tahir Shah Wazir and other police officers were present.
Prizes were awarded for the safe recovery of the abductees from Hayatabad.
During the ceremony, Mardan and Kohat division police officers were also given prizes for arresting members of the bank robbery gang.
CCPO Abbas Ahsan Peshawar, Regional Police Officer Mardan Yaseen Farooq, Regional Police Officer Kohat Zafar Ali, SSP Operations Yasir Afridi, DP Nowshera Iqbal Khan, DPO Khyber District Wasim Riaz and other senior police officers were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the IGP commended the officers and men of Peshawar Police for their bravery and excellent policing performance.
The IGP said the manner in which Peshawar police rescued the abductee safely in a very short period of time and the manner in which elements involved in other crimes were being dealt with iron hands was commendable
On the occasion, IGP Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Dr. Sanaullah Abbasi said that no matter how influential criminals are, they are not above the law, adding that criminal elements were dealt with iron fists within the ambit of constitution and law.
He said that despite the lack of resources, the Peshawar Police in particular and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police in general have been tackling all the challenges in a highly professional manner which is not to be underestimated.
It may be recalled that Wali Khan, who was abducted from a residential area like Hayatabad on April 28, was rescued during a successful operation last night.
