Pakistan-Japan cultural Association Peshawar organized Calendars Exhibition 2017

PESHAWAR(PR):The Pakistan-Japan cultural Association Peshawar in collaboration with the Embassy of Japan organized Japanese Calendars Exhibition 2017 at the Gandahara University, Peshawar on Tuesday in which over 100 calendars were displayed portraying Japan’s traditional and contemporary arts, sports, automobiles, nature, cultural heritage and architecture.
The Exhibition was inaugurated by the Chief Guest and Advisor to Chief Minister on Higher Education and Information Mushtaq Ahmed Ghani marking the 65th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Japan and Pakistan. Officials from the Embassy of Japan including the First Secretary Public Affairs MrNoriAshida, First Secretary Mr Hiroyuki Oue, Chief Security Advisor ImtiazKakar, President Pak-Japan cultural AssocoationMrsRoeedaKabir, and the Honorary Council General in Peshawar MrFazal Karim Afridi also present on the occasion.
In order to foster the bond of friendship between the two countries, the Embassy of Japan in Pakistan has planned a variety of activities including political, economic and cultural affairs in various cities of Pakistan.
The Japanese Calendars Exhibition is an annual feature of the cultural activities organized by the Embassy of Japan in Pakistan, which is very popular among the people of Pakistan. Since every calendar is a piece of art, the Japan Calendar Association has tried its best to attract viewers through different subjects and mediums. The exhibition not only gives a picture of the socio- cultural development of Japan spread over centuries, but also exhibits the aesthetic features of Japanese printing technology.
Most of the calendars were produced by private Japanese companies, and most of them were printed on recycled paper which is a fine example of Japan’s efforts to be eco-friendly. While speaking on the occasion, Mushtaq Ahmed Ghani recognized the efforts of Japan in the completion of Hydro power projects, Gravity Water Supply Scheme in Abbotabad, completion of Kohat Tunnel and various other areas. He further expressed hope for greater cooperation to further strengthen the diplomatic relations and ties between both the countries.
