SSP Operation Yasir Afridi has said that police department using all available resources to maintain law and order in the provincial capital Peshawar.
He said that police will work with people belonging to all sects and schools of thought to ensure the peaceful conduct of Muharram. These views were expressed by SSP Operations Yasir Afridi during a special meeting with a delegation representing Ahl-e-Sunnat and Jamaat at Malik Saad Shaheed Police Line yesterday.
According to details, a delegation led by Ahl-e-Sunnat and Jamaat chief Mufti Najibullah Farooqi had a special meeting with SSP Operations Yasir Afridi at Malik Saad Shaheed Police Line Peshawar yesterday.
During the meeting, SSP Operations Yasir Afridi, while addressing the participants, clarified that it is the beauty of Peshawar that the people here respect each other’s religion, creed and beliefs.
He clarified that according to the government policy, the police personnel would perform their duties with honesty and diligence as per the wishes of the people for peace in the city.
SSP Operations clarified that during Muharram, we appreciate the cooperation of all sects who worked side by side with the police every year despite adverse conditions and maintained peace in the city.
