Police training course for cops from merged tribal regions underway in KP districts

Inspector General of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police Dr Sanaullah Abbasi on Thursday visited police centres in Peshawar and Swabi to inspect the basic training course of the khasadar and levies force personnel from the merged tribal districts.
Following his visit to Malik Saad Shaheed Police Lines in Peshawar, the top police official went to Swabi where cops from former tribal regions were being trained.
The provincial police chief said that they have already given 60 vehicles and weapons to law enforcement personnel in the merged districts and promised that they will be further facilitated to perform their duties well.
Abbasi said that 360 cops from the tribal districts were now being trained for two months at police lines in Peshawar, Mardan, Swabi, Dera Ismail Khan, Kohat, Nowshera, Swat and Bannu.
“The levies personnel being trained include 60 from Khyber and FR Peshawar, 70 each from Bajaur and Mohmand districts, 60 from FR Kohat, Orakzai and Kurram, 40 from FR Bannu, FR Lakki Marwat and North Waziristan and 60 personnel from FR DI Khan, FR Tank and South Waziristan,” he said.
The IG said that funds have been released for building police stations in tribal districts and work on it would be started soon.
He also inaugurated Yadgar-e-Shuhada at Swabi Police Lines during his visit.
