Punjab CM inaugurates Head Marala Hydro Power project

Hydro power plant has capacity of producing 7.64MW electricity with four turbines of 1.9MWs capacity each

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Monday inaugurated Head Marala Hydro Power project near Head Marala, Sialkot.
The hydro power project had been established at Upper Chenab Canal (UCC) near Head Marala Barrage with a total cost of Rs3.98 billion under the supervision of Chinese engineers. The hydro power plant has capacity of producing 7.64MW electricity with four turbines of 1.9MWs capacity each.
The turbines were made functional after their successful tests, said a press release. The press note further stated that the plan was linked with the national grid which will annually generate 50.3 million unite.
Usman Buzdar after its inauguration inspected the turbines and control room and examined power generation system. PTI leader Firdous Ashiq Awan presented a souvenir to the chief minister.
Firdous Ashiq Awan said, “Usman Buzdar is the first people’s chief minister of the Punjab and we are thankful for his visit.
The way Usman Buzdar is solving the problems of the people is praiseworthy, she added. We will fully welcome him whenever he will visit Sialkot, she added.
President PTI Central Punjab Usman Dar said the chief minister has won the hearts of the people by announcing to establish special economic zones along Lahore-Sialkot Motorway and the business community is thankful to him.
