PESHAWAR
Shahpur police on Saturday claimed to have arrested one the three mobile snatchers, who had allegedly involved in many cases of robberies.
In a statement issued by the Capital City Police, the operation was carried out by against ASP Chamkani Mohammad Haseeb Ashraf, SHO Shahpur police station Rafiq Khan, Additional SHO Shahpur police station Bihar Ali in-charge of police post Pakha Ghulam Shabir Khan and other police personnel.
It said that soon after the incident of snatching on Dalzak Road area near Mozi Bridge Pakha Ghulam, SHO Shahpur Rafiq Khan launched operation and reached the spot.
Additional SHO Shahpur Bihar Ali and Outpost Incharge Pakha Ghulam Shabir Khan of Ababil Squad reached the spot where the accused saw the police party, two of the accused escaped on a motorcycle, while the third tried to escape on foot and opened fire on the police.
The police team, with great courage and strategy, arrested him in an injured state after cross-firing.
Weapons and three mobile phones looted in the limits of Shahpur and Gulbahar area were also recovered from the accused during the search.
The arrested person has been identified as Bahar Ali son of Amirzada.
During preliminary inquiries, it was found that the recovered mobile phones were seized from Muhammad Atif Khan.
The accused is involved in serious crimes and cases are registered against him in different police stations of the provincial capital.
Special teams have been formed to arrest other accused of the gang.
