SBP to issue Rs50 for International Anti-Corruption Day

KARACHI: The Federal Government has authorized the State Bank of Pakistan to issue Rs. 50 Commemorative Coin of International Anti-Corruption Day. These coins will be issued through the exchange counters of all the field offices of SBP Banking Services Corporation from December 10, 2018. “Corruption is a complex social, political and economic phenomenon that affects all countries. Corruption undermines democratic institutions, slows economic development and contributes to political instability,” the SBP stated in a press release. On 31 October 2003, the General Assembly adopted the United Nation Convention against corruption. The Assembly also designated 9 December as International Anti-Corruption Day to raise public awareness for Anti-Corruption. The convention entered into force in December 2005. DNA
