SCCI commends diplomatic triumph in US-Iran ceasefire

A resolution was unanimously adopted by the Executive Committee of the Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), appreciating Pakistan’s civil and military leadership role as mediator for brokered US-Iran ceasefire, calling it a significant diplomatic breakthrough and economic opportunity.
Meeting of the Executive Committee headed by SCCI President Junaid Altaf was held at chamber’s house, wherein the Chamber’s Secretary General Muqtasid Ahsan moved the resolution on U.S-Iran truce and Pakistan’s role in promoting regional peace and stability, according to a statement issued here on Friday.
Ghazafar Bilour, leader of Businessman Forum and former FPCCI president, former presidents Haji Muhammad Asif, Zahidullah Shinwari, Malik Niaz Ahmad and Faiz Muhammad Faizi, former senior vice president Shahid Hussain, Naeemur Rehman, Saddar Gul, Ihsanullah, Ishtiaq Paracha, Aqeel Kiyani and Rashid Iqbal Siddiqui were attended the meeting as observer.
The meeting was also attended by Muhammad Nadeem, Senior vice president and executive member, Fazal Moqeem Khan, Executive committee member and former president, Abdul Jalil Jan, former senior vice president and executive members Mujeebur Rehman, Aftab Iqbal, Ashfaq Ahmad, Saifullah Khan, Sajjad Zaheer, Shamsur Rahim, Abbas Fuad Azeem, Haji Gul Zaman, Adnan Nasir, Abdul Nasir.
Apart from routine rules of business, routine matters of the chamber, the prolonged Pak-Afghan trade routes closure, imposition of smart lockdown under government’s energy conservation plan, and the recent unprecedented hike in prices of petroleum products, budget proposals for FY2026-27, were on agenda of the meeting, and the house thoroughly held discussion on these points.
