Situation of trapped Pakistanis in Afghanistan discussed

To review the situation of Pakistani citizens stranded in Afghanistan due to ongoing Pak-Afghan tensions, a high-level meeting on the directives of the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was held at the Commissioner Peshawar office on Monday
The meeting was chaired by Commissioner Peshawar Riaz Mehsud and attended by Member Provincial Assembly Sahibzada Muhammad Adnan Qadri, the Afghan Consul General, Deputy Commissioner Peshawar, Director General NADRA, Deputy Commissioner Khyber, and representatives of other relevant departments.
The participants thoroughly discussed the problems being faced by transporters, teachers, students, and laborers from District Khyber who are currently stuck in Afghanistan.
Speaking on the occasion, MPA Sahibzada Muhammad Adnan Qadri highlighted the severity of the issue and urged authorities to take immediate and practical steps to ensure the safe, dignified, and swift return of the affected individuals.
The meeting decided that a comprehensive list of the trapped Pakistan citizens will be compiled and submitted through the Chief Secretary to relevant authorities besides it list will also be shared with the Afghan Consul General for an effective and expedited repatriation process.
The participants further agreed that coordination among concerned departments would be strengthened, and diplomatic as well as administrative efforts would be accelerated to provide maximum relief to Pakistani citizens in Afghanistan.
Meanwhile, on the directives of Commissioner Riaz Mehsud and MPA Sahibzada Adnan Qadri, the Director General NADRA, Deputy Commissioner Khyber, and other senior officials are scheduled to visit the Afghan transit camp in Landi Kotal on Tuesday to assess the situation on ground.
