ISLAMABAD : The Supreme Court (SC) has adjourned till the judicial week starting from October 5 hearing of bail pleas of PPP leader Khurshid Shah and his son in accumulation of assets beyond known source of income case

The court has also directed the counsel for the petitioner to file summary of his arguments till the next hearing.

The court remarked that special bench will be constituted for conducting next hearing of this case.

A 3-member bench of SC presided over by Justice Umar Ata Bandial took up the case for hearing Wednesday.
Counsel for NAB told the court “we have filed appeal against the co-accused who have been released on bail. Two petitions have been filed by the petitioners. Copy of the petitions from the petitioners has not been provided to us.

Mian Raza Rabbani counsel for Khurshid Shah took the plea that this case consists of 7000 pages. This is case of 12 properties and bank accounts. My client Khurshid Shah is under detention since the last one year. It will be better if the hearing of the case is fixed before October 05.

The court directed the defense counsel to file the summary of arguments till next hearing.

Justice Ijaz ul Ahsan while addressing Mian Raza Rabbani remarked “ you want we should hear your arguments and enjoy them. We want to hear this case. But NAB needs time. We issue order for hearing the case during the judicial week commencing from October 05. Most of benches will sit in SC Quetta registry this week. A special bench will be constituted for this case. We issue notice to NAB too.

Counsel for NAB told the court our senior prosecutor Jahanzeb Bharwana will appear in the next hearing of this case.

The court while issuing notice to NAB adjourned the hearing of bail pleas of Khurshid Shah and his son till the judicial week starting from October 05 in accumulation of assets beyond known source of income.
