SSP Operation Yasir Afridi has said that modern technology induction in crime investigation is need of the hours, adding that police should formulate a by determining the hotspots of crime.
A crime meeting chaired by SSP Operations Yasir Afridi was held at Malik Saad Shaheed Police Line yesterday in which SDPOs and SHOs of the four divisions participated.
The meeting reviewed in detail the crimes and their investigation.
On this occasion, SSP Operations conducted a comparative review of the cases under investigation and directed to formulate a new strategy by determining the hotspots.
He directed to increase the number of information based search operations, surprise blockades and police patrols as well as the investigation system to maintain law and order.
Addressing police officers, SSP Operations Yasir Afridi stressed the need to work diligently, impartially and honestly to tackle modern challenges.
He also directed to ensure the use of modern technology in the investigation of serious crimes and regular geo-tagging which would enable the prevention of serious crimes.
He also directed the police officers to play a key role in eradicating social problems including crime prevention and liaising with the PLC members at the regional level in this regard including maintaining close liaison with the area elders.
He also directed the police officers to give special instructions regarding aerial firing, display of drugs and weapons and to keep a close watch on those with close links with those involved in street crimes.
