Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has started the process of ‘sending books’ to 7-lakh students enrolled in Matric to Ph.D level programs, for the semester Spring, 2017.
Timely mailing of course books to students was a big challenge especially with the increasing enrolment this year, however it was undertaken in collaboration with Pakistan Post and the process was started on fast-track basis so as to complete it in the schedule time, this was stated by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Shahid Siddiqui while inaugurating the process.
The process of mailings books have been expedited in order to give sufficient time to the students to submit their course-assignments.
At first phase, a list of twenty thousand students enrolled in Matric program was received to mailing department and the books are being dispatched to them, the students will receive their books in next ten days.
Books along with allied material of FA and BA programs would be dispatched next week. Efforts are being made that the whole mailing process is completed at the earliest, the official added.
A new computerized tracking system has been introduced, facilitating its thousands of students to check books’ mailing status.
The new computerized tracking system has recently been developed through which the student using website can simply enter his/her roll number and registration number to track the mailing package.
The students have been advised to contact their relevant post offices in case of delay in the books’ delivery.
The relevant staff has also been advised to ensure accuracy in the mailing system to avoid any inconvenience at the students’ level.

Meanwhile, April 7 was set as last date for admissions in various academic programs. Admissions forms and prospectuses could also be obtained from the University’s main campus, 44-Regional Campuses and more than 100- Coordinating Offices across the country, moreover prospectus and admission forms of M.Phil and Ph.D level programs could also be obtained from the University’s website
