Tank Zam Dam approval welcomed by local elders, people

TANK: People of District Tank highly praised Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government for approving construction of three new dams including Tank Zam Dam in Southern KPK, Tank and Dera Ismail Khan. Provincial Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Amin Khan Gandapur said that Tank Zam Dam, Chodwan Zam Dam, Daraban Dam will bring an agricultural revolution in KP’s poorest zone, ensuring food security and will create job opportunities. The minister said that using water efficient models command area can be doubled as per the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan for a strong and self-reliant Pakistan. General Secretary Saraiki National Movement Qazi Jamil said that construction of Tank Zam Dam will resolve many problems of Tank city. He said that people of Tank highly appreciate the KPK government decision. He also appreciated the efforts of the provincial minister Faisal Amin Khan Gandapur and Federal Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur. Our Correspondent
He said that Tank Zam Dam will bring green revolution in areas of the Tank which was neglected in the past 30 years.
A social Activist from Tank Gulfam Shori said that this was a great initiative by the provincial government particularly Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to announce construction of Tank Zam Dam.
He said that Tank was facing acute drinking water shortage and this will also ensure water provision to agriculture which will bring economic prosperity in the areas.
Another social activist Sheikh Safi ullah Khan said that this was great decision of KPK government for the poorest city of Tank. He thanked Chief Minister KPK and provincial minister Faisal Amin Khan Gandapur for their great efforts in this regard.
It may be mentioned here that the Provincial Development Working Party meeting has approved feasibility and detailed design of the Tank Zam Dam, Chodwan Zam Dam and Daraband Dam on Tuesday.
The construction of these dams will irrigate one lac nine thousand seven hundred and twenty one acres of land, While Tank Zam dam will also generate 25.5 MW of clean electricity.
