There is no justification of hearing NAB appeal plea against the acquittal of Nawaz Sharif soon: IHC

ISLAMABAD, April 07 (Online): Islamabad High Court (IHC) has remarked that there is no justification to hear the NAB appeal against acquittal of former Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif soon and all the appeals will be heard separately.;

The court while summoning Corona virus SOPs report from registrar office has adjourned the hearing of the case till Tuesday.

A two members bench of IHC comprising justice Justice Amir Farooq and justice Mohsin Akhtar took up for hearing the plea seeking the fixation of appeal pleas soon against Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz and Capt (Retd) Safdar Thursday.
NAB prosecutor Sardar Muzaffar told the court we want early hearing of all the six appeal pleas.

Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiani remarked “ appeals will be heard separately. There is no justification for hearing the appeal against the acquittal of Nawaz Sharif early.

Justice Amir Farooq remarked the appeal of acquittal and conviction will be seen separately. We are also seeing the matters under corona SOPs. We are hearing appeal pleas against the conviction but we are not hearing the appeal pleas against the acquittal just now.

The court summoned report on Corona SOPs policy from registrar office. Registrar office should tell what is the status of Nawaz Shaeif case under the existing policy.

The court while adjourning the hearing of NAB applications seeking early hearing of the appeal pleas till Tuesday remarked we will give decision after seeing registrar office report.
