Traffic Police Rawalpindi failed to remove encroachment from the city shopping malls and the ever busiest Saddar Bazaars. No major operation launched to discourage the encroachers. The encroachers have occupied roads, footpaths and open spaces in Bara Market, Namak Mandi, Narnkari Bazaar, Fawara Chowk, Trunk Bazaar, Jamia Masjid Road, Sadiqabad, Muslim Town, Commercial Market, Saidpur Road, Khayaban-e-Sir Syed, Asghar Mall Road, Ganjmandi Road, Dhoke Mangtal Road and Bagh Sardaran in the city. An official talking to Daily Lead Pakistan said that action would be taken against the encroachers and their goods would be confiscated without any pressure. He said that encroachments are main hurdle in the smooth flow of traffic on city roads, which would be removed at all costs to ensure better traffic-flow on the roads. He said without removal of encroachments, increasing traffic problems cannot be controlled and other traffic related issues couldn’t be addressed properly. He said that all out efforts would be made to remove encroachments so that citizens particularly motorists could be facilitated on roads. He urged the trader’s community to play their effective role in eliminating encroachment from the city markets.
