Two gangsters held; weapons recovered


ISLAMABAD: Golra Police has busted a gang comprising two members and recovered weapons from their possession, police said. According to details, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Muhammad Aamir Zulfiqar Khan ordered crackdown against criminals including those involved in street crime. Following these orders, DIG (Operations) Waqar-Ud-Din Syed has directed all zonal officers to accelerate their efforts to curb the crime in the city. Following these directions, SP (Saddar) Muhammad Umer Khan constituted special team under supervision of SDPO Saddar Khalid Mehmood Awan headed by SHO Golra Muhammad Iqbal Gujjar along with other officials which successfully busted two members’ dacoit gang involved in snatching cash, mobile phone and other valuables at gun point. They have been identified as Arzak Masih and Mubashir Mehmood Police team recovered weapons from them. During the preliminary investigation, they confessed their involvement in incidents of looting people in area of Noon, Tarnol, Sabzi Mandi and Shams Colony police stations. The nabbed persons have already criminal record and further investigation is underway from them. DIG (Operations) Waqar Uddin Syed has appreciated this overall performance and directed all police officials to ensure effective policing measures in their respective areas. Our Correspondent
