UoP wrestling team departs for PM Inter-University Olympiad 2024

The University of Peshawar’s wrestling team has left for Islamabad to participate in the Prime Minister Inter-University Olympiad 2024, organized by the Higher Education Commission. The team is brimming with determination to excel in the Inter-University Wrestling Championship and bring pride to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Team Members and Management
The wrestling squad consists of talented athletes from the university’s affiliated colleges, including:
Fahad Khan and Sajjad Ullah from Government Superior Science College, Peshawar.
Ubaidullah Khan, Afzal, and Umar Khan from Government College, Peshawar.
Nouman, Imad, Moshin, Sami-ul-Hassan, and Mehram from the University of Peshawar.
The team is managed by Dr. Abdul Rasheed Anwar, a seasoned sports coordinator from Government Superior Science College, who is guiding and mentoring the players.
The athletes aim not only to perform at their best but also to bring recognition to their province. They are motivated to showcase their skills, resilience, and love for the sport by competing fiercely with other universities.
Speaking about the championship, Dr. Abdul Rasheed Anwar said:
“Our team is well-prepared to face the competition. This is a golden opportunity for our players to demonstrate their potential while promoting sports culture in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
During the departure ceremony, University of Peshawar’s Director of Sports Bahar Karam, alongside Dr. Noorzada, Safdar Khan, Noor Sher, and Ahsan Kamal, expressed their confidence in the team. They praised the players’ efforts and highlighted their role as ambassadors of the province’s sports community.
The entire nation’s hopes and prayers are with the University of Peshawar’s wrestling team as they embark on this journey to achieve excellence at the Prime Minister Inter-University Olympiad 2024.
