Australian batting, especially their middle order once again ditched them. Batting aggressively through the middle overs backfired for Australia as despite of being ahead on the run-rate in middle overs – Australians ended 16 runs short.
Australia were ahead of the run rate midway in the chase, but they lost steam with Aaron Finch and Moises Henriques falling in the same over.
Dre Russ picked a 3 for 43, his career-best in T20Is. Cottrell got three too. Gayle quietly came on and conceded just nine runs in three overs, bowling yorkers for fun at pace.
