\nFederal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Sardar Muhammad Yousaf has urged the Muslim World to formulate a common policy to uphold and promote family values in the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) member states at all levels.
\nA delegation of the government of Islamic Republic of Pakistan led by Sardar Muhammad Yousaf\u00a0on Thursday\u00a0participated in the \u2018First Session of the Ministerial Conference on preservation of the values of marriage and family institution in OIC Member State\u2019 held in Jeddah.
\nThe Minister, while thanking for the generous hospitality, appreciated the efforts of the Khadmain Al Hermain Al Sharifain King Salamn Bin Abdulaziz and the government of\u00a0Kingdom\u00a0of\u00a0Saudi Arabia\u00a0in leading the important initiative to protect the basic unit of society i.e. the family in Muslim World.
\nRejecting the deviant nation of \u201cSexual Orientation and Gender Identity\u201d as human rights, he underscore the need to resist attempts to redefine the concept of traditional marriage and family to include such deviant personal choice and behaviour.
\nSardar Yousaf urged that the Islamic countries are duty bound to formulate a common policy to institutionalize effective legislative and administrative measures to promote the sanctity of family values in all forms. In this regards, he reaffirmed that the government of\u00a0Pakistan\u00a0supports the efforts of OIC in building cooperation with international institutions and exchange of expertise and information to achieve the objective of establish framework and mechanism to comprehensive safeguard the institutions of marriage and family.
\nAt conclusion of the Ministerial Conference, \u2018Jeddah Declaration\u2019 was adopted which reflected the collective aspiration and intent of the Muslim leadership to forge common political and socio cultural agenda to raise awareness about importance of preserving family values, promoting and strengthening the institution of marriage and to confront the growing rick of same sex marriages at all levels.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
