ISLAMABAD
\nPakistan\u00a0has expressed serious concern over building of a secret nuclear city and development of inter-continental ballistic missiles by\u00a0India.
\nSpeaking at the weekly news briefing in\u00a0Islamabad\u00a0today, Foreign Office spokesperson Nafees Zakaria said Indian measures would disturb strategic balance in the region.
\nThe Spokesman said Indian defence build up would also endanger peace in the region and beyond. He urged the international community to take notice and check rapid Indian expansion in conventional and nuclear weapons.
\nHe said\u00a0India\u00a0is involved in acts of terrorism in\u00a0Pakistan\u00a0and\u00a0Islamabad\u00a0has provided evidence to the UN about Indian interference. He said\u00a0India\u00a0is funding terrorist activities in\u00a0Pakistan.
\nTo a question the spokesman said\u00a0Pakistan\u00a0itself is a victim of terror.\u00a0 People of\u00a0Pakistan\u00a0and their State institutions have been the target of terrorism.
\nNafees Zakaria said\u00a0India\u00a0is constantly violating ceasefire at the LoC, which resulted in the loss of lives of the innocent civilians. Indian belligerence continues to pose threat to the peace in the region, which the international community should take note of Kashmiris have rejected a draft bill by the sham government that gives police AFSPA like powers, which will convert\u00a0Jammu and Kashmir\u00a0into a more lawless state. This is deplorable. He said according to Association of Parents of Disappeared Persons (APDP) 8000 Kashmiris in IOK have been disappeared.
\nHe said\u00a0India\u00a0is carrying out perpetual genocide in Occupied Kashmir.
\nTo a\u00a0 question, he said\u00a0Pakistan\u00a0remains open for dialogue with\u00a0India\u00a0and has taken a number initiatives but\u00a0India\u00a0did not respond positively.\u00a0 He said instead of resolving the issues amicably thorugh dialogue,\u00a0India\u00a0adopted a hostile attitude.
\nAnswering a question, he said\u00a0India\u00a0has visibly failed in isolating\u00a0Pakistan. He said we were assured at leadership level from\u00a0India\u00a0that they would share investigations into Pathankot incident but nothing has been shared in this regard.
\nThe Spokesman to a question said most of the countries have confirmed their participation in the ECO Summit to be held on 1st of next month.\u00a0 He said connectivity for prosperity is the main theme of the summit.\u00a0 He hoped that\u00a0Pakistanwill successfully hold the summit.
\nReplying to a question, he said Russian Energy Minister is in\u00a0Islamabad\u00a0to discuss technical aspects and other related details of two billion dollars North, South gas pipeline. He said negotiations are progressing well. To another question, he said defence cooperation is an important component of Pakistan-Russian relations.
\nTo yet another question, the Spokesman said\u00a0Pakistan\u00a0has longstanding relations with US and wants to further strengthen these ties.\u00a0 He said two sides are constantly in contact with each other.\u00a0 He said our relations with\u00a0Iran\u00a0are cordial and diverse.\u00a0 He said according to Prime Minister's vision of peaceful neighbourhood and shared prosperity, we remain committed to consolidate these relations.
\nAnswering a question, the Spokesman said Heart of Asia conference is being held in\u00a0Baku\u00a0next month.
\nHe said a meeting on\u00a0Afghanistan\u00a0will be held in\u00a0Moscow\u00a0in April.\u00a0 He said\u00a0Pakistan\u00a0has been invited to the meeting and it would likely to attend.\u00a0 He said evolving situation in\u00a0Afghanistan\u00a0will be reviewed at the meeting.\u00a0 He said\u00a0Pakistanis committed to peace and stability in\u00a0Afghanistan\u00a0and would sincerely cooperate towards this end.
