PESHAWAR: A great number of students from Khyber Agency of FATA asked political administration of Khyber Agency to take forthwith steps for early release of annual scholarships as around 3000 students have been deprived from it since 2015.
\nSpeaking at a news conference on Sunday at Peshawar Press Club, president Pakhtun Students Federation (PkSF) Khyber chapter, Abid Afridi said that if their were not instantly addressed they will stage a protest sit-in in front of political agent office of Khyber. He threatened that a protesting campaign would also be kicked off if administration fails to ensure early release of scholarships.
\n“At least 3000 students of Khyber Agency enrolled in various colleges and varsities across Pakistan have not been paid the said annual scholarships from political administration since 2015\\” he informed. The scholarship used to be paid on regular basis since the independence of Pakistan but unluckily this time the administration and FATA Secretariat were using delaying tactics, he explained.
\nHowever, there is no any known reasons that why the scholarship has not been released since 2015 as it is the right of enrolled students in college and universities, he stated. He while sharing details of rest of tribal agencies said that scholarship has been released to students of other areas but unfortunately Khyber administration is yet to award it Khyber Agency students.
\nFlanked by other office bearers of PkSF including Adnan Samiullah Khan, general secretary, Irsahd Afridi, senior vice president, Wahab Afridi, vice president and others, he said that they would start protesting against political administration and FATA Secretariat for not giving scholarships to students if they fail to do so.
\nThey also demanded of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra to make the process of affidavit for Federally Administrated Tribal Areas (FATA) students as they are facing with various difficulties in getting of their affidavit\\” Afridi said.
\nSimilarly, he said that the migration process should be made easy for those students of the agency who were studying in the settled areas of district Peshawar and wanted to migrate to KA colleges. However, he said that schools in the agency had under construction and would soon be completed for reopening in the areas.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
