PESHAWAR: Employees of the Fata mobile hospitals staged protest demonstration against the government for not raising their salaries.
\nThe protesters gathered outside the Peshawar press club and chanted slogans in favor of their demands.
\nThey were of view that the mobile hospital project was initiated in Fata in 2003 and a total of about 150 employees including paramedics and security guards were hired by the government.
\nThey alleged that the government did not raise their salaries since their induction.
\nThey demanded of the government to announce raise in their salaries and regularize their services. \u201cThe government should approve incentives for us as like that of other employees of the health department,\u201d a leader of the protesters Jamsher Khan said.
\n\u201cOur paramedics have been working against fixed salary of Rs20, 000 while the security guards are working on Rs10, 000 to Rs12000 which is insufficient as compared to today\u2019s price hike. We event do not get any travelling or daily allowance while going to far flung area,\u201d Khan added.
\nHe threatened that if their demands were not accepted, they would stage sit-in in Islamabad.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
