{"id":12976,"date":"2017-02-23T16:22:39","date_gmt":"2017-02-23T06:22:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/leadpakistan.com.pk\/news\/?p=12976"},"modified":"2017-02-23T16:22:39","modified_gmt":"2017-02-23T06:22:39","slug":"committee-reviewing-foreign-election-laws-to-make-ecp-more-autonomous","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/leadpakistan.com.pk\/news\/committee-reviewing-foreign-election-laws-to-make-ecp-more-autonomous\/","title":{"rendered":"Committee reviewing foreign election laws to make ECP more autonomous"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Our Correspodent<br \/>\nIslamabad<br \/>\nThe subcommittee of electoral reforms has started to review the laws of other countries in order to make Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) financially more autonomous.<br \/>\nWhile giving briefing to media Federal Minister for law Zahid Hamid has informed that more than six hundreds objections were received form various departments and political parties\u2019 regarding the proposed draft of electoral reforms. \u201cAfter receiving the objections committee has reviewed theses objections and a consultation was completed on 57 objections\u2019 he added.<br \/>\n\u201cThe objections which were decided so far are included enhancement in the powers of ECP and other matters\u201d, he added and maintained that ECP would be made complete autonomous in preparing budget and creating new job opportunities.<br \/>\nThe Federal Minister added that new method is being introduced to make election transparent. Under this method, all the presiding officers would be bound to send election results to ECP electronically along with all Returning Officers. Similarly, Presiding Officers would inform the Returning Officers about those polling stations which results are not received till 2 pm of next day and ECP. \u201cIt was decided that objections raised over the electoral reforms would be decided immediately while meeting of subcommittee would be held two times in a week\u201d, he concluded.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Our Correspodent Islamabad The subcommittee of electoral reforms has started to review the laws of other countries in order to make Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) financially more autonomous.
