\nPunjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar Sunday vowed to make the province a business hub of the country.
\nIn a statement, the chief minister said that economic zones and industrial estates are being established on 10,000 acres in the province. He said the government is introducing favorable reforms to boost the industrial sector in the province.
\nHe lamented that previous rulers only established three special economic zones since the establishment of Pakistan . He highlighted, \u201cWe have introduced such reforms for the industrial sector in only two years which could not have been done in the next 70 years by those elements displaying pomp and show.\u201d
\nHe apprised that Allama Iqbal Industrial City to be established in Faisalabad stretches on more than three thousand acres of land. The CM highlighted that employment opportunities for 300,000 youths will be generated directly from Allama Iqbal Industrial City.
\nHe directed to start work on phase-II and phase-III of Greater Thal Canal project removing all impediments. The chief minister said that Greater Thal Canal will irrigate millions of acres in five districts of South Punjab upon completion.
\nHe underscored, \u201cWe are bringing international companies to Pakistan and one window system is being introduced in the industrial estates for their facilitation.\u201d He added that there will be capacity for setting up more than 550 industrial units in the industrial city.
\nThe CM outlined that this project will prove to be a game changer in order to set the wheel of economy rolling which will create one million employment opportunities in the concerned sectors.
\nHe emphasized that industrial reforms of Punjab government will pave the way for the economic revival in the COVID-19 perspective. The CM maintained that work on infrastructure is ongoing in the contiguous districts of other provinces for the promotion of inter-provincial trade.
