PESHAWAR: A three-member committee constituted to conduct inquiry into corruption charges against CM Khyber Pakhtunkhwa\u2019s former information has sent leaked audiotape and other related documents for forensic examination.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe statements of persons allegedly involved in the scam will be recorded during the next meeting,\u201d officials said.<\/p>\n
Following the forensic audit and further probe into the graft charges against the former ad hoc information minister, the commission will present the inquiry report before the KP CM Mahmood Khan within a month.<\/p>\n
After the audio scandal leaked, the CM had constituted a three member commission, comprising ex-civil servant Sahibzada Saeed, former judge Muhammad Bashir and former senior police official Tariq Javed.<\/p>\n
The commission was given the task whether to opt FIA or Anti-corruption department for inquiry into the alleged audiotape scandal.<\/p>\n
The inquiry commission is mandated to determine whether the audiotape was genuine or fake.<\/p>\n
The commission will also examine the procurements being discussed in the audio clip and undertake a thorough review of process of award and subsequent execution of such procurements to determine wrongdoings.<\/p>\n
The commission will also propose rectifying measurements and punitive action if any wrongdoings or malfeasance is established during the probe.<\/p>\n
It will settle on the quantum of loss, if any, occasioned to public exchequer and make a thorough fact finding probe into other procurements of similar nature as well, undertaken during the tenure of Ajmal Khan Wazir as adviser to the KP Chief Minister.<\/p>\n
The three members committee will suggest systemic analysis of method of procurements and grant of advertisements to eliminate discretion and malfeasance while ensuring transparency and accountability without compromising maximum value for money.<\/p>\n
