\nPrime Minister Imran Khan\u2019s tall claims and shallow slogans to eliminate corruption evaporated into thin air after another corruption scam related to Billion Tree Tsunami Project was unveiled in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as project officials were found involved in embezzlement of Rs19.6 million.
\n\u201cThe embezzled amount of Rs19.6 million has been recovered from corrupt employees whereas 25 officials have also been suspended in Billion Tree Tsunami Project,\u201d reads a notification issued by the office of KP\u2019s chief secretary.
\nGovernment sources predicted that more looted money would be recovered from corrupt officials in coming days as the inquiry was still underway.
\nThe secretary of Forestry, Environment and Wildlife Department has also sacked officials involved in corruption in the same project which includes forest officers, divisional forest officers, forest rangers, 11 forest guards, class four employees and others, revealed another government notification.
\nThe letter further stated that there was a fine imposed on corrupt officials of the project and added that the forest department employees misused their powers.
\nThe documents further exposed that a large number of plants of the Billion Tree Tsunami Project were not planted in various areas of Kohat and Bannu districts even though the money had been released for it by the government.
