Indian PM is trying to divert global attention from tragedy in India-held Kashmir<\/strong><\/p>\n

Islamabad: Responding to Prime Minister Narendra Modi\u2019s Independence Day speech, Sartaj Aziz, Adviser on Foreign Affairs said, that statement of Modi is proof of India\u2019s involvement in Balochistan unrest.Online reported.
\nIn a statement, Aziz said that Modi was only trying to divert world attention from the grim tragedy that has been unfolding in the Indian Occupied Kashmir over the past five weeks.
\n\u201cIndian Prime Minister reference to Balochistan, which is an integral part of Pakistan, only proves Pakistan\u2019s contention that India through its main intelligence agency RAW, has been fomenting terrorism in Balochistan. This, Aziz added, was also confirmed by the public confession of RAW\u2019s active service Naval Officer, Kulbhushan Yadav in March this year.
\nHe said that Kashmir is not internal matter of India but issue is core dispute between two countries.
\n\u201cThousands of unarmed youth are protesting every day for their right of self determination. More than 70 innocent Kashmiris have been killed and more than 6000 injured\u201d, the advisor said.
\nHe said that there is constant curfew and complete media blackout for the past 37 days in occupied Kashmir.
\n\u201cThese events (protests in occupied J&K) have nothing to do with terrorism. It is an indigenous movement for self determination, a right promised to the Kashmiris by the UN Security Council. At this time, the contrast between the Indian Occupied Kashmir and the Azad Jammu and Kashmir could not be more stark\u201d, Aziz said.
\nHe said that India is a large country, in fact the second largest in the world and this must be acknowledged, but a large country does not automatically become a great country, specially when it unleashes such brute force against innocent citizens to suppress their right to protest or when it deliberately uses pallet guns to permanently destroy the eye sight of over 100 youth.
\n\u201cIndia should recognize that the core issue of Kashmir cannot be resolved by bullets. It requires a political solution, through serious negotiations between India and Pakistan\u201d, Aziz said concluded.<\/p>\n

People of Balochistan & Kashmir thanked me: Modi on India’s Independence Day<\/strong><\/p>\n

NEW DELHI: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi took aim at what he called supporters of \u201cterrorism\u201d in his Independence Day speech on Monday, ratcheting up criticism of Pakistan while avoiding direct mention of month-long protests in Indian-held Kashmir.
\nModi also pitched a vision of national unity and progress in his third annual address from the ramparts of the Red Fort in Delhi that, at 94 minutes, was the longest delivered by the 65-year-old leader.
\nYet it was a broadside against Pakistan that left the strongest impression in a speech that otherwise skirted foreign affairs and focused on his government’s own achievements.
\n\u201cWhat kind of life is this, inspired by terrorism? What kind of government setup is it that is inspired by terrorism?\u201d asked Modi, who delivered the open-air address amid a security lockdown in the Indian capital.
\n\u201cThe world will know about it and that’s sufficient for me.\u201d
\nThe Indian PM went aggressively further in a diatribe against Pakistan.
\n“People of Balochistan, Gilgit and PoK (Pakistan Occupied Kashmir) have thanked me a lot in past few days, I am grateful to them,” said Modi in his Monday address.
\nModi also said that Indians “also cried” when children in Peshawar were killed in the APS attack in December 2014.”This is our nature, but look at the other side. They glorify terrorists.”
\nAs Modi spoke, two gunmen attacked a police station in Indian-held Kashmir, wounding six reservists. The army also claimed it had foiled an attempt to infiltrate two ‘militants’ from Pakistan into north Kashmir, killing both.
\nKashmir has witnessed violent protests since a July 8 encounter in which the security forces eliminated a commander of militant group Hizbul Mujahideen. At least 54 people have been killed and thousands hurt in clashes with the security forces.
\nModi met national party leaders on Friday to seek ways to end the worst unrest in Kashmir since 2010.
\nReport cardIn keeping with earlier speeches, Modi delivered a report card on efforts to improve the lot of ordinary Indians, reeling off achievements in rural electrification, financial inclusion and health provision.
\nHe strongly backed the fight against inflation, endorsing a 4 per cent target, within a range of 2 percentage points either way, agreed with Reserve Bank of India Governor Raghuram Rajan.
\nHe barely mentioned his government’s latest – and arguably most significant – reform achievement: the passage of a keyamendment that clears the way for the introduction of a Goods and Services Tax (GST) next year.
\nHe said only that the GST would \u201cgive strength\u201d to the economy, while thanking opposition parties that, after a drawn-out battle, had come on board to pass the amendment unanimously through both houses of parliament.
\nThe GST would unite India’s $2 trillion economy and 1.3 billion people into a single market for the first time and, its backers say, boost economic growth and job creation that Modi needs to win a second term at the 2019 general election.
\nThe tradition of delivering the annual address from the steps of the 17th-century Red Fort from where Mughal kings ruled Delhi for two centuries dates back to Jawaharlal Nehru’s historic \u201ctryst with destiny\u201d speech of 1947.
\nModi, despite a barnstorming campaign that carried him to the biggest electoral landslide in three decades in 2014, has so far failed to touch the rhetorical heights achieved by India’s first prime minister.
\nBut, sporting a red, pink and yellow turban, he did indulge in some trademark wordplay to say that India was moving from \u201cswaraj\u201d, or self rule in Hindi, to \u201csuraj\u201d, or good governance.
\n“One society, one dream, one resolution, one destiny – we proceed in this direction,” he said.<\/p>\n

NEW DELHI: Former foreign minister and Senior Congress leader Salman Khurshid on Monday disagreed with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s point of view on Balochistan.
\nHe claimed that India’s right and entitlement is over AJK and if anyone occupies part of Jammu and Kashmir we have a right to complain and take it back from them.\u201d
\n\u201cTo interfere in Pakistan’s internal matters, no matter how appropriate it may be in terms of human rights, political aspirations of people, it is not our business.
