\nIslamabad : Federal Minister for Human Rights Shirin Mazari presented a report on the plight of women in Pakistan’s jails to Prime Minister Imran Khan.<\/p>\n

The report made important observations and recommendations on the necessary legislative, policy and training reforms to protect the rights of women prisoners in the country.<\/p>\n

Prime Minister Imran Khan had a detailed consultation with Human Rights Minister Shirin Mazari on Thursday. <\/p>\n

In which recommendations were made to the Prime Minister for providing relief to women prisoners.<\/p>\n

The report highlights the important need to reduce the proportion of inmates under trial.<\/p>\n

Included in report to Develop alternative and non-final punishment measures for women prisoners, as well as improve housing and education and rehabilitation programs in women’s prisons and barracks across the country, revise prison laws, address human rights violations and humanitarian needs.<\/p>\n

It is recommended to review individual cases, train staff, address mental health issues and develop post-release programs.
\nPM has issued important directives regarding helpless women in jails and ordered to keep the female inmates with minor crimes in prisons which are near their homes.
\nAccording to the details the PM has instructed Shireen Mazari to hold consultations with the attorney general in this regard.
\nHe said that civilized societies are recognized by ensuring protection of human rights.
\nHe added that Protection of human rights is the foremost priority of this government.
\nPM has also taken notice of the plight of women in jails and decided to improve their condition.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
