PESHAWAR: A tribesman from Mohmand Agency has accused a former official of the local political administration of transferring his chromite\u2019s mine illegally in the name of another resident of the area.
\nAddressing a press conference, ZakirHussain demanded of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Iqbal Zaffar Jhagra to help him in retrieving his chromites mine from the illegal occupant.
\nDuring the press conference, MrHussain was accompanied by a local cleric MaulviLalBadshah, who also blamed the same official for transferring his land property to a resident of Bajaur Agency.
\nBoth the tribesmen alleged that former assistant political agent Mohammad Naeem allotted land properties of local people to his friends without any litigation. They demanded of the governor to order probe into the matter.
\n\u201cI was forced to sign a document but on my refusal the administration sent me behind bars in 2013,\u201d alleged MrHussain. He added that a group of influential elders took possession of his chromites mine through fake documents.
\nHe said that the influential people were busy in excavation and transportation of chromites from his mine but authorities were least bothered to take notice of his complaints.
\nHe urged government to conduct probe into the matter through FIA and NAB and stop excavation till final decision.
\nMaulvi Lal Badshah also demanded inquiry into allotment of his land property. \u201cI am not allowed to cultivate my fertile agriculture land as the APA had given ownership rights to some other people in 2014,\u201d he alleged.
\nHe said that he visited offices of the relevant officials to get justice but to no avail. \u201cThere is no land settlement in Mohmand Agency and administration is free to allot lands of locals to anyone it wants without any hesitation,\u201d he alleged.
\nThe tribesman said that he belonged to a poor family and the agricultural land was sole resource of his income but the former assistant political agent illegally transferred its ownership to influential people.
\nMrBadshah said that it was a common practice in the tribal region that poor people were exploited by the administration and no one could dare to raise voice against the officials.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
