\nAffairs and Chairman PM Youth Program Usman Dar Sunday assured Pakistan
\nFurniture Council (PFC) that the government would fully support the export oriented local furniture sector to boost country\u2019s exports and in this regard all possible cooperation would be provided from the government.
\nWhile speaking at a prize distribution ceremony at the concluding day of three-day 12th \u201cInteriors Pakistan\u201d exhibition at Dustoor Event Complex
\nSialkot organized by PFC, he thanked the Council for a successful exhibition and said with development of the furniture industry, it would be easy to meet local and international needs. The furniture industry in the country was moving forward in a positive direction and the efforts were being made to improve the duty structure for the furniture industry.
\nUsman Dar said that workers of this industry had great skills and potential and if used properly, Pakistan could become the best exporter of furniture. He added that with the development of the furniture industry, it would be easy to meet local and international needs.
\nHe said it is healthy sign that a lot of young interior designers participated in this exhibition to show their talents and PTI government would provide the maximum opportunities to the youth to shine by utilizing their talent, skills and capabilities, which could be helpful to take the youth forward by contributing their pivotal role in national development and prosperity as well.
\nThe advisor to the prime minister later visited various stalls of the exhibition and praised the workmanship, quality and design of the various items on display.
\nOn this occasion, PFC Chief Executive Mian Kashif Ashfaq expressed his gratitude for visiting the exhibition as chief guest at the concluding ceremony. He also assured the advisor that the business community of the country would provide complete support to the government towards implementing its reforms agenda and overcome the current economic challenges.
\nHe further said that PFC is playing its due role efficiently for promoting furniture brands not only inside the country but also abroad by displaying world-class innovative designs, suiting the aesthetic sense of the buyers.
\nHe added that Pakistan has a great potential to enhance furniture exports to the USA and Europe by developing good brands and the business community should focus on the branding of products to promote business activities and improve exports.
\nThe Pakistan Furniture Council chief said that furniture made in Chiniot meets more than 80 per cent of the local demand. This, combined with the handicraft industry, is employing around 50,000 people, he said and added that if the local industry expands, new opportunities of employment will emerge.
\nMian Kashif said the government should also take measures to provide interest-free loans to youth for business startups, especially those who are interested in opening business in the furniture sector.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
