{"id":151952,"date":"2020-10-23T14:01:54","date_gmt":"2020-10-23T09:01:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/leadpakistan.com.pk\/news\/?p=151952"},"modified":"2020-10-23T14:01:54","modified_gmt":"2020-10-23T09:01:54","slug":"pm-stresses-to-conduct-environmental-studies-before-starting-developmental-work","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/leadpakistan.com.pk\/news\/pm-stresses-to-conduct-environmental-studies-before-starting-developmental-work\/","title":{"rendered":"PM stresses to conduct environmental studies before starting developmental work"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD : Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed the authorities concerned to conduct prior environmental studies and ensure conservation of natural resources before launching development work on the islands.<br \/>\nAccording to media reports while chairing a meeting in Islamabad to review progress on Pakistan Islands and Ravi Riverfront Urban Development projects, he emphasized that the development activity in  two projects would bring huge investments for Pakistan and create significant employment opportunities for the local people.<br \/>\nHe said the revenues earned by the islands projects would be spent on other welfare projects in respective provinces.<br \/>\nWhile briefing about the Pakistan Islands, the Pakistan Islands Development Authority chairman said due attention would be paid to environmental conservation and corporate social responsibility.<br \/>\nHe said, the Authority is working with international environmental organizations, including International Union for Conservation of Nature and had also obtained \u201cSilver Rating\u201d of Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design by the US Green Building Council.<br \/>\nHe informed the meeting that the Fishermen Welfare Fund would be established for welfare schemes of local fishermen.<br \/>\nHe assured that the development of Pakistan Islands would be made in an environment friendly manner.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD : Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed the authorities concerned to conduct prior environmental studies and ensure conservation of natural resources before launching development work on the islands.
