ISLAMABAD : Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) while accepting Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan plea has acquitted the PM in parliament attack case.
\nThe court has summoned 12 accused including federal ministers Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Pervez Khatak, Shafqat Mehmood, Asad Umar, provincial minister Aleem Khan, Shaukat Yousufzai, Jahangir Tareen on November 21 for indictment. <\/p>\n

Raja Jawad Hassan Abbas, judge of ATC announced the reserved judgment.
\nThe court has acquitted Mubashar Ali, member Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) from the case while Dr Tahir ul Qadri has already been declared proclaimed offender. <\/p>\n

Babar Awan Khan, counsel for PM Imran Khan had filed his written arguments through acquittal plea on behalf of Imran Khan on previous hearing. <\/p>\n

The court was told through the written arguments that PM Imran Khan was implicated in false and baseless case. There is neither any evidence available against PM nor has any witness recorded statement against him. <\/p>\n

The court was requested through the arguments it is politically motivated case and any possibility for conviction in this case stands ruled out. Therefore, he may be acquitted. <\/p>\n

The prosecutor also supported the acquittal plea from Imran Khan during the hearing of the case. <\/p>\n

Prosecutor told the court case was instituted against Imran Khan on political basis. This case will be only wastage of time. Prosecution has no objection if the court acquits Imran Khan. <\/p>\n

It may be mentioned that enraged people had attacked PT headquarters during PTI and PAT dharna -2014. A case was registered against 70 persons including Imran Khan and Tahir ul Qadri by secretariat police in 2014 for attacking PT headquarters and parliament house and interfering in official work. <\/p>\n
