NOWSHERA: Chief Minister Pervez Khattak on Wednesday said the performance of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government had unnerved the opposition parties and they had started a negative propaganda campaign against the government to survive in politics.
\nHe was speaking at four public meetings in ASC Colony in Badrashi, Azakhel Bala, Pir Piai and Pabbi in his hometown here. Activists of various political parties announced joining the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on the occasion.
\nDistrict Nazim Liaqat Khattak, Member National Assembly Dr Imran Khattak, Member Provincial Assembly Mian Khaliqur Rehman and others were also present.Pervez Khattak said the people were joining the PTI in droves despite the negative propaganda by the opposition parties, which, he said, was a show of confidence by the people in the performance of the provincial government and PTI chief Imran Khan.
\nHe said the government was focusing its energies to improve the life standard of poor and restore public self-esteem in the government departments.Enumerating his government achievements, the chief minister said it was providing free healthcare facilities to poor patients, improved standard of education in state-run educational institutions, providing solar panels to tube-wells to enable farmers to irrigate their lands, free seeds to them, upheld merit in recruitments in government departments, eliminate corruption, streamlined the decades old faulty system, improved governance etc.
\nHe said the people were matured and can differentiate between the candid and loses.The chief minister hoped the PTI would win the next general elections with a thumbing majority.
\nOur Peshawar Bureau adds: Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa offered unmatched incentives to attract foreign investment in different sectors including projects to be set up under China Pakistan Economic Corridor, hydro power generation, tourism, housing and infrastructure development.
\nTalking to Iranian Ambassador Mehdi Honardoost at the Chief Minister\u2019s House here, Pervez Khattak said his government wanted to attract domestic and foreign investment in different sectors.
\nIranian Consul General Muhammad Baqir Beigi and other officials were also present at the occasion, said a handout. They discussed areas of cooperation in different sectors and the Iranian willingness to explore the possibility of futuristic investment in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
\nPervez Khattak said that his government brought about a visible change in all public sectors institutions and made the potential advantages of this province open for investment. \u201cWe have an investment-friendly environment because we have an autonomous company working for the industrialization and trade activities,\u201d he told the Iranian diplomat.
\nHe added his government would welcome Iranian investment in the province.
