\nThe 143rd birth anniversary of the Poet of the East, Dr Allama Muhammad Iqbal was observed with national zeal and fervour on Monday.
\nAn impressive Change of Guards Ceremony was held at Mausoleum of Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal as the nation celebrates 143rd birth anniversary of National Poet, who with vision of independent state inspired the creation of Pakistan.
\nA smartly turned out contingent of Pakistan Navy clad in immaculate whites, assumed ceremonial guard duties with traditional spirit and enthusiasm. Meanwhile, the outgoing Rangers ceremoniously moved out of the Mazar lead by their Officer-in-Charge. Both the outgoing incoming Guards of Pakistan Navy and Pakistan Rangers were inspected by Station Commander (Navy) Lahore, Commodore Muhammad Neimatullah.
\nThe ceremonial Guard mounting was followed by floral wreath laying at the Mazar of National Poet by Station Commander (Navy) on behalf of Chief of the Naval Staff, Officers, Sailors and Civilians of Pakistan Navy.
\nMeanwhile, various literary, political, social and cultural organizations arranged special programmes to pay homage to the national poet and to highlight his life and thoughts.
\nPresident Dr Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Imran Khan in their separate messages on Iqbal Day, urged the need for standing united, setting aside differences and working with commitment for the socio-economic uplift of the country.
\nThe President in his message underscored the need of following Allama Iqbal\u2019s teachings on Islam and his philosophy of \u201cKhudi\u201d that believes in the promotion of self-respect and human dignity, to make Pakistan a prosperous nation.
\nHe said that Iqbal was a great benefactor of the Muslims of subcontinent, who envisioned the idea of a separate homeland for them and later his dream was translated into reality.
\nPrime Minister Imran Khan in his message also emphasized on individual and collective responsibility in the building of the nation while exploring thoughts of Allama Iqbal. He said Allama Iqbal not only dreamt of Pakistan but also reflected upon the issues it would have to face after its creation.
\nThe Prime Minister emphasised the need for seeking guidance from Allama Iqbal\u2019s thoughts to find solutions to the issues being faced by the nation. He said that now it is their individual and collective responsibility to play their role in the building of the nation while exploring thoughts of Allama Iqbal.
\nAllama Iqbal had decided to guide the Muslims of the sub-continent with his thoughts and poetry at a time when they were groping in the darkness of slavery in search of their identity, he highlighted.
\nWith his poetry, Allama Iqbal invoked that power with which the Muslims overcome their sense of despondency, guiding them to achieve the impossible, he added. It was due to the far-sightedness of his personality who had many years earlier predicted the contemporary problems being faced by us, he maintained.
\nOn the auspicious occasion of Iqbal Day, Directorate General Public Relations Air Force has launched a new motivational song \u201cShaheen-o-Mahi.\u201d The song is not only a tribute to the Poet of the East Dr Allama Muhammad Iqbal but also depicts Iqbal\u2019s vision for the guardians of aerial defence.
\nThe main theme of this song is to acquaint the youth with Iqbal\u2019s philosophy of self-realization and bravery. The song has been sung by the renowned Pakistani vocalist Zaib Bangash. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
