\nISLAMABAD
\nThe Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has constituted a committee for issuing advance ruling on requests submitted by businesses.
\nSuraiya Ahmed Butt, Chief Collector of Customs, Appraisement and Facilitation, South Karachi, has been nominated as chairperson of the committee. Other members include: Ashhad Jawwad, Collector, Model Customs Collectorate, Appraisement and Facilitation, PMBQ, Karachi; and Shafique Ahmed Latki, Director, Directorate General of Customs Valuation, Karachi.
\nYasin Murtaza, Additional Director (Hqs), Model Customs Collectorate, Appraisement and Facilitation, East, Karachi has been nominated as secretary of the committee.
\nThe committee has been constituted under Rule 790 of Customs Rules, 2001. The committee will work on submission of an application and examine the application for its correctness.
\nA ruling passed by the committee shall be binding on the applicant unless the applicant prefer an appeal as per rule 797 of the rules:
\nProvided that a ruling issued by the committee shall be binding on the customs for a period of one year unless there is a change in fact or circumstances on the basis of which the advance ruling was pronounced.
\nThe committee has been authorized to refuse to process the application in following situations: if the applicant has submitted incomplete, incorrect, false or misleading information; if law, facts or circumstances of the case changes; if the issue is pending before any adjudicating authority, appellate tribunal or any court of law; or if the issue has already been decided by an adjudicating authority, appellate tribunal or any court of law:
\nProvided that before such rejection, an opportunity of being heard shall be given to the applicant in person and reason thereof shall be recorded in the order.
\nOn a valid application, the committee will pass the order within 90 days from receipt of application with all requisite documents. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
