ISLAMABAD, November 27 (Online): During the hearing of a case pertaining to recovery of one Asma Majeed, a girl abducted from Dera Ghazi Khan in 2015, , the counsel for parents of the girl has expressed dissatisfaction over the court\u2019s proceedings pleading that if the court is describing writing of a letter as the performance of the police then it is regrettable. <\/p>\n
He further argued \u201cpolice have written to some departments after one year of the hearing of the case and the respective departments have given no reply to police. <\/p>\n
A 3-member bench of SC presided over by Justice Umar Ata Bandial took up the case for hearing Friday. <\/p>\n
Additional IG Police Punjab Dr Zafar appeared in the court. <\/p>\n
Justice Umar Ata Bandial remarked \u201c it is found from police report that police are taking action. Record tells that police are continuing its efforts for recovering the abducted girl. The age of the girl was 15 years at the time of abduction. Still her age is not more. <\/p>\n
The counsel for the parents of the kidnapped girl said if the court is terming the writing of letter as police effort then we can only say sorry. After one year of the hearing of the case Police have written letters to only some departments. These departments have not given any reply to police. <\/p>\n
Justice Umar Ata Bandial questioned from the counsel of parents of girl \u201c are your expert in investigation. <\/p>\n
The counsel replied \u201c No, I am not expert in investigation. But no headway is being made in the case. The girl was abducted five years before and she has not been recovered so far.
\nJustice Umar Ata Bandial remarked \u201c what you are saying this court has said these things to the police during the hearing of the case in December 2019. <\/p>\n
Justice Muzahar Naqvi remarked girls are brought from Multan and South Punjab to \tHyderabad and are sold therein. Ask about these girls in Hyderabad, they will be at some dera therein. <\/p>\n
Justice Umar Ata Bandial remarked \u201c this is a fact the women and children are sold out in our country. <\/p>\n
He directed Additional IG \u201c trace out these gangs which are doing this thing. As per reports Multan, Hyderabad and Lodhran are the hub of the human trafficking. <\/p>\n
The court ordered all the four provinces to extend cooperation in tracing the abducted girl. <\/p>\n
