\nThe Elementary and Secondary Education Department (ESED), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and the British Council Pakistan are determined to improve teaching skills of all primary school teachers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. First Phase of quality teacher training by British Council in Government Schools will be completed by the end of April 2017. Around 23,500 primary school teachers are being trained in the first phase.
\nUnder this initiative, the British Council will assist ESED in training and development of nearly 83,000 teachers of KP primary schools with special focus on four subjects; English as medium of instruction, mathematics, science and general knowledge. The three year program will be implemented in all district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. In the first phase, more than 400 master trainers have been selected through assessment and transparent selection criteria by the British Council.
\nThe selected master trainers would also be tested after the training and be graded and certified by the British Council across the province. The cost of the programme would be Rs 568 million \u2013 the government will bear 70 percent of the cost, while the British Council will bear the remaining 30 percent.
\nBritish Council plans to introduce new and innovative techniques of teaching using mobile technology (Text Messaging, Interactive Voice Recording (IVR) system and computer based learning. Additionally, informative material such as Information Education Communication material and learning manuals will also be developed on teaching skills. This programme will immensely contribute to the teaching skills of the teachers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and we hope that the British Council will continue such projects in the future.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
