\nSindh Minister of Education Saeed Ghani has said that over 43,000 primary, middle and secondary schools of 29 districts of the province have been located on Google map with GPS technology.
\nThe minister said this while presiding over a meeting regarding the Department of School Education Reforms Support Unit at his office on Saturday. He said that now any school of the province can be located via Google map easily.
\nTalking to the media after the meeting, the provincial educational minister said that the examination procedure has been changed for the convenience of the students. \u201cExam duration would be two hours instead of three,\u201d he said. \u201cThe weightage of multiple-choice questions (MCQs) would be 50 percent, long [subjective] questions would be 30 percent and short questions would have a weightage of 20 percent.\u201d
\nFurthermore, Ghani said that examinations for primary classes and up to grade eight would commence from June 7 whereas exams of grade nine and 10 would be conducted between July 1 to July 15. He added that examinations for grades 11 to 12 would start from July 28.
\nGhani further said that results of examinations for grade nine to 10 would be released on September 15, while results of grade 11 and 12 would be released on October 15. No college would be allowed to admit students before October 15, he added.
\n\u201cAll boards of education will prepare examination results in 90 days.\u201d
\nThe provincial education minister maintained that strict SOPs would be followed during examinations and reiterated that students would not be promoted to the next grade without examinations this year.
\nHe further said that at least 13,750 Covid-19 tests had been conducted of government colleges staff, out of which 200 people had been reported to be affected by the virus. \u201cTwo colleges in Karachi are still closed due to coronavirus,\u201d he said, adding that all schools in Sindh would reopen on February 1.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
