PESHAWAR: A senior TV artiste and winner of civil award, Noushaba, has sought the government and philanthropist support for treatment of her ailing son. Speaking at a Media conference on Friday, she said her 29-year old son, has been fighting for his life due to failure of his kidneys for the last 14-months.
\nShe said her husband died last year, and she was the lone bread winner for the family.
\nNoushaba said she had no other source of income, but earns through television dramas in Urdu and regional languages. \u201cI have performed at national television PTV, radio, and stage dramas in Urdu, Pashto and Hindko languages,\u201d she added. She said she had sold out her house for treatment of her son but has to carry out dialysis thrice a week, that costs Rs20,000 for each time.
\nThe senior artiste said the doctors told her that a sum of Rs7 million would be required for complete treatment of her son, which, she said, is quite difficult to arrange due to her poor financial condition. Noushaba appealed to the government and philanthropists to provide her financial assistance to help her to continue treatment of her son in time. Because, she said the dialysis is not a permanent solution to save life of her son. \u201cI had approached to provincial culture department for financial support, but it turned down by citing that her son was not entitled to avail treatment facility on government expense, she said.
\nSimilarly, she said she also wrote a letter to prime minister, a five month back, but she didn\u2019t get any response yet.
\nShe appealed to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan, Chief Minister Pervez Khattak and Governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra to extend her financial support to get her son treated.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
