\nMinister for Energy Omar Ayub Khan has said that the government is pursuing robust policies to revamp the petroleum and power sectors of the country.
\nThe minister said this while talking to Ambassador of Czech Republic Tomas Smetanka and Ambassador of United Arab Emirates (UAE) Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Salem Al-Zaabi who separately called on him on Wednesday and discussed matters related to cooperation in the field of energy.
\nIn his meeting with the Czech ambassador, Omar Ayub said the government is committed to diversify the outlook of the energy market while making it more competitive and efficient.
\nReferring to the exploration and production activities, the minister said recently the government has carried out the bidding of fifteen oil and gas blocks and minimum investment in these blocks will be over seventy one million dollars in three years. He said the government will be offering more new oil and gas blocks by the end of this year.
\nThe minister said the government is focusing on exploiting indigenous resources for electricity generation.
\nDuring the meeting, the Czech ambassador explored the areas of mutual discussion in the energy sector including investment in the oil sector and business in the LNG supply chain for a group of Czech companies visiting Pakistan by the end of next month.
\nDuring his meeting with the UAE ambassador, they discussed the ongoing cooperation in the petroleum sector and explored the priority areas of mutual interest in the energy sector of Pakistan, a Petroleum Division news release said.
\nOmar Ayub congratulated and lauded Emirates for sending a space mission to Mars \u201cAmal or Hope\u2019\u2019 and its successful entry into Mars\u2019 orbit.
\nThanking and extending his gratitude for the minister\u2019s pleasant remarks, the ambassador expressed the UAE\u2019s keenness of further investment in Pakistan\u2019s energy.
\nHe said the collaboration in the energy sector would provide an impetus to economic ties between the two brotherly countries.

\nEarlier on Tuesday in Lahore, the UAE ambassador has expressed interest in investment in the health and construction sectors in Punjab.
\nAmbassador of UAE Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Salem Al-Zabi called on Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar on Monday and discussed matters of mutual interest including promotion of bilateral relations.
\nThe UAE ambassador expressed interest in investment in health and construction sectors. He said that the UAE companies are interested in investment and are ready to invest in SEZs. The UAE visa centre will also be opened soon in Lahore, he added.
