{"id":1818,"date":"2016-08-22T05:45:46","date_gmt":"2016-08-21T19:45:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/leadpakistan.com.pk\/news\/?p=1818"},"modified":"2016-08-22T05:45:46","modified_gmt":"2016-08-21T19:45:46","slug":"oic-reassures-support-to-people-of-iok","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/leadpakistan.com.pk\/news\/oic-reassures-support-to-people-of-iok\/","title":{"rendered":"OIC reassures support to people of IOK"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: Former President Azad Jammu &amp; Kashmir, Sardar Yaqoob Khan, discussed Kashmir issue with Mr. Iyad Ameen Madani, Secretary General of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) at a dinner hosted by the former in Secretary General&#8217;s honour at Kashmir House, Islamabad.INP reported<br \/>\nWhile recalling OIC Resolutions on Jammu and Kashmir dispute, the President AJK expressed gratitude to the Secretary-General for OIC&#8217;s consistent support for the people of Jammu &amp; Kashmir in their struggle for self-determination.<br \/>\nHe apprised Secretary General of the recent situation in the Indian Occupied Kashmir IOK. He highlighted the grave human rights violations being committed by the Indian occupation forces in the IOK.<br \/>\nHe also stressed that sham elections held by India could never be a replacement of the Kashmiri&#8217;s right to self-determination and called on India to implement UN resolutions stating that the final disposition of the State of Jammu and Kashmir would be made in accordance with the will of the people expressed through the democratic method of a free and impartial plebiscite conducted under the auspices of the United Nations.<br \/>\nThe OIC Secretary General expressed concern at the atrocities being committed by the Indian Occupation Forces with impunity. He called for an early resolution of the Kashmir dispute through peaceful negotiations and underlined the need for India&#8217;s engagement with Pakistan through a dialogue process towards a peaceful settlement of the Kashmir issue.
