LAHORE(INP): Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Senator Sirajul Haq, has said that the JI would not compromise on the issue of corruption and a petition against the Panama leaks would be field in the Supreme Court on August 24.
\nTalking to the media in Islamabad, he reiterated that accountability should begin from the Prime Minister as he was holding the highest public office. He said that the Prime Minister himself had stated that accountability should begin from him. However, he said, even after passage of several months, the government had not replied to the Supreme Court letter on this issue which meant that there was something wrong.
\nHe said he did not want a toothless Judicial Commission. Instead, he wanted a Commission that should hold investigation and suggest the penalty and bring all the facts to light. He said the government still had time to set up the Commission and accept the opposition\u2019s ToRs.
\nHe said that according to the Swiss Finance Minister, a massive amount of 375 billion dollars of different Pakistani citizens was lying in Swiss banks. He said under an agreement, the Swiss government was to provide detailed information regarding the wealth of the Pakistanis by 2017 but nobody knew how the nation would benefit from this information.
\nThe JI chief said that the Quetta carnage recently was not less than the 9\/11 in the US. He said the 9\/11 had changed the US but unfortunately, there was no change in this country even after the Quetta tragedy as it seemed nothing had happened.
\nSirajul Haq demanded that an APC be held in Quetta at which the local advocates and political leadership should be invited. He thanked the people of Balochistan for holding rallies against Indian Premier Modi\u2019s statement on Balochistan and Gilgit.
\nSirajul Haq said the JI would not join any move that could end up in the abrogation of the constitution because if the present constitution was abrogated, it would be difficult to evolve an agreed constitution again.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
